2021-2022 Competition Protocol

The 2021-2022 Competition Protocols are now finalized and can be found here: https://manitobagymnastics.ca/goverance/

COVID-19 landscape is constantly changing so this document will continually be reviewed and updates will be made available required.

The current Public Health Order, requires all members of the public entering indoor sport and recreational facilities over the age of 18 years old to provide proof of vaccination upon entry.

We have received clarification from the Government that Members of the Public does not necessarily apply to paid staff and that each employer has the right to set their own vaccination policy for their employees. The MGA strongly recommends that all club staff/employees be vaccinated as per the recommendations of Public Health in order to protect the safety of the vulnerable populations clubs are working with.

If a paid staff member leaves their facility and enters another facility (i.e. competition, NCCP training) they are considered a member of the public therefore vaccination proof is required for those over 18 years old.

Additionally, the MGA has also extended vaccination requirements to all officials and coaches who are under the age of 18 years old. Meaning that if they are attending a MGA sanctioned event in the role of Coach or Official they must be vaccinated regardless age.

Exemptions are only granted to those who possess proof from the Government of Manitoba there is a medical reason for said person to not receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

At this time, sport has not been identified to be in the same category as healthcare,  schools or other front line workers where testing can be done in lieu of vaccinations. Testing is not an option at this time and is not seen to be something that is being considered in the immediate future.
