Funding and Grants

Manitoba Gymnastics Association has a number of funding opportunities accessible to current members. Make sure to check back on a regular basis for new opportunities. Details can be found below:

Athletes

Kidsport Top Up Fund

  • Participants whom are eligible for Kidsport Funding can receive up to an additional $300.00 per membership season towards their program registration fees
  • For additional details the Kidsport Top Up Fund policy is located under our Regulations
  • On-going until maximum funding allocation per fiscal year has been reached.
  • Applications are not yet open 2026-2025 Fiscal Year (April 1, 2026 forward): Application Form

Champion Performance Fund

  • 2 Male and 2 Female National Level (or higher) Athletes are awarded $1,150
  • To be used for training fees, camps, travel, meet registration or uniforms
  • For additional details the Champion Performance Fund policy is located under our Regulations
  • Next Deadline to Apply: August 31st, 2026
  • To be Awarded: Fall 2026

Women to Watch Grant

  • Granting of up to maximum of $500.
  • Applications are due June, October and February 15th.

Kidsport Funding

Manitoba Foundation for Sports Scholarships

  • The scholarship program’s emphasis is placed on athletes who have competed at the provincial level or higher and who have maintained a high level of academic standing, while showing a commitment to amateur sport and  their community through their involvement in coaching, officiating and volunteer activities.
  • Applications are due in March of each year.

Princess Royal Pan Am Scholarship Fund

  • The Princess Royal Pan Am Scholarship endowment fund has been established to provide financial support for Manitoba’s high performance athletes. In addition to supporting athletes in training the scholarship will serve as a tribute to commemorate the Manitoba visit of Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal in 1999.
  • Applications are due in March of each year.

Coaches

Jack Mowat Bursary

  • 2 Coaches are awarded $1,000
  • To be used coach development opportunities such as NCCP training, non-NCCP training, travel, etc.

SMB Coach Assistance Grant

Women to Watch Grant

  • Granting of up to maximum of $500.

  • Bursaries of up to maximum of $500.
  • Applications are due March of each year.

Clubs

Organization Development Grant

  • Grants for member clubs to develop their organizational effectiveness with funding for projects such as Strategic Plans, Bylaw & Policy Review, Organizational Governance model review, Parliamentary Consultation, and Mediators for Alternate Dispute Resolution.
  • Applications are on-going.

Rural Development Grant

  • Grants for member clubs to submit their development project (athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers).
  • Applications are on-going.

18+ Event, Program or League Sponsorship Grant

  • Grants for member clubs to submit their event/program/league for 18+ members (athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers).
  • Applications are on-going.
