President’s Report on Women’s Edmond Financial Manitoba Open Championships

On Saturday, April 9th and Sunday April 10th, I attended the Brandon Eagles Women’s Manitoba Open Meet. The event was held over a period of two days and hosted J.O. Level 5 – 10 gymnasts, Aspire One gymnasts as well as 1 HP gymnast. The competition accommodated 103 gymnasts, 54 of those competing in the Wheat City Invite and 41 competing for a spot on the Manitoba Team for their respective levels. In total eight clubs were in attendance: Crescentwood, Fantastic, Keystone Kips, Panthers, Springers, Steinbach Flippers, Winnipeg Gymnastics and the host club, Brandon Eagles.
The Women’s Program also named their teams for Western Canadian Championships and Canadian Championships. All gymnasts who competed have their names and scores posted on the MGA website.
Many hours went into the planning of this 2 day event and all involved did a phenomenal job in making certain that this meet did not disappoint.
On behalf of the MGA, I wish to thank the Brandon Eagles Gymnastics Club for hosting the Manitoba Open. Once again thank you to all the judges, coaches and dedicated volunteers for a job well done. Finally thank you to Lorie Henderson and her crew for the invitation, allowing me to take photos and the honour of handing out awards.
Lawrence Oystryk
