President’s Report on MB Games Winnipeg Qualifiers

On Sunday, December 3rd, 2017, Springers Gymnastics Club hosted the MB Games Qualifier Advanced/Pre-Provincial competitions for the Manitoba Games to be held in March of next year in Thompson. It was an exciting time for both spectators and gymnasts as a very boisterous crowd cheered on their favorites. Seventy-five gymnasts competed for various Advanced and Pre-Provincial levels.

I attended the full day of competitions taking photos of gymnasts as they displayed their talents. All photos are downloaded, sorted and passed on to the various clubs as keepsakes. At the end of the competition, the MB Games qualifiers were picked and announced to the crowd. Photos of the Blue and Gold teams were taken and handed over to the MGA, they can be found on Facebook and Instagram.

The participating clubs were: Crescentwood, Gymkyds, Keystone Kips, Panthers, Silhouettes, Winnipeg Gymnastics, St. Andrews Gymnastics and the host club, Springers. All gymnasts who competed have their names and scores posted on the MGA website.

Without fail, Rachelle Valel, Kendra Tower, Brooke Merrifield, Jamie Wakin, Jamie Kerslake and the rest of the Springers’ staff ran yet another flawless competition.

I would like to thank Springers Gym Club for the invitation and the honour of giving out awards. Credit for the success of this event also goes to the coaches, judges, gymnasts, and volunteers who make this happen time and time again. I would also like to thank parents, grandparents, family and friends who always attend in large numbers to support and encourage each and every gymnast!   On behalf of the MGA, I take this opportunity to recognize everyone’s hard work and commitment to the sport.
