On Friday, December 13th, at the Winnipeg Gymnastics Centre, I attended the Men’s Winter Warn-up. The session hosted 27 participants from the following 4 clubs: Dakota, Spartans, Steinbach Flippers, and the host club, Winnipeg Gymnastics Centre. The event included Regional Beginner and Advanced as well as P1-P3.
After all the proceedings were done and scores tallied, the gymnasts were treated to lunch. During the award ceremony, each competitor received a scarf, followed by the handing out and ribbons and medals to the winners.
I was unable to attend the Women’s Saturday competition, however on Sunday, I attended all day. Four of Sunday’s sessions hosted a total of 265 Gymnasts from the following 10 clubs: Brandon, Dakota, GymKyds, Keystone Kips, Neepawa, Selkirk, Silhouettes, Spartans, Steinbach and the host club, Winnipeg Gymnastics Centre. The event included JO 1-9 gymnasts.
Once again, while scores were verified, the gymnasts were treated to lunch. During the award ceremony, each competitor received a scarf, followed by the handing out and ribbons and medals to the winners.
All individual participants’ scores may be viewed on the MGA website. A big thank you goes out to all score keepers, coaches and judges for their hard work. On behalf of the MGA, I wish to thank Celia Champion of the Winnipeg Gymnastics Centre, and her staff of volunteers for hosting this year’s Winter Warm Up competition. I now look forward to the remaining competitions being held in the New Year. Best wishes to everyone for a wonderful festive season and a Happy New Year to all!
