The Men’s Provincial Championships were held on Sunday, April 15th in Steinbach, and were hosted by the Flippers Gymnastics Club.
A total of 37 gymnasts competed at the Beginner, Advanced, P1, and P2 levels.
5 clubs were in attendance: Brandon Eagles, Selkirk Selects, St. Andrews, Winnipeg Gymnastics and the host club, Steinbach Flippers.
It was a half day of events totally supported by parents, grandparents and spectators enthusiastically supporting all gymnasts by cheering them on. At the end of the competition, the athletes enjoyed lunch while their scores were tabulated. After a brief break, I had the honour of handing out awards.
Head Coach, Bonita Martens, her coaching staff and volunteers were busy throughout the morning doing an excellent job in securing another successful meet.
In closing, I would like to thank coaches, judges, gymnasts, parents and all volunteers, as they are a huge part of any event; I wish to take this opportunity to acknowledge their hard work and dedication to the sport.
