President’s Report on Western Canadian Championships
The 2016 Western Canadian Championships were held in Richmond B.C. at the Olympic Oval, from May 4th to May 8th, 2016. Board member Kendra Tower attended along with parent, Billy Cormier as Team Managers. As Chef de Mission, I was very impressed by the gymnasts’ professionalism during our travels and throughout the meet. They were disciplined, motivated and focused. Our five days in Richmond were filled with training sessions, daily competitions, and lots of travel between the hotel and the venue. Kendra and Billy’s skillful managing of the agenda proved to be invaluable. On our first day in Richmond, Kendra got the whole team together and managed to find enough time to set up a dinner for the team and all their coaches.
Congratulations to all the gymnasts and coaches for their hard work and resounding success. All scores have been posted on our website.
I take this opportunity to personally thank Kendra Tower and Billy Cormier as managers for Western Canadians. They maintained a steady hand over some 50 plus gymnasts as they traveled between the hotel and competitions in 2 coordinated vans.
Finally I wish to thank Kathy Stoesz for staying in touch with Team Manitoba while we were in Richmond.
