Here is some additional detail about the course facilitators:
Chris Grabowecky has been involved with Alberta Gymnastics and Gymnastics Canada since the 1970’s. He competed for Alberta and the University of Calgary at the Provincial and National Level, including winning the Alberta Provincial Championships as a Senior National Gymnast in 1981. Upon retiring from competitive gymnastics, he started judging to give back to the sport he loves. In 1993 he became an International FIG judge and has judged 3 Olympic Games (2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing, 2016 Rio), 8 World Championships and numerous other International, National and Provincial competitions. Chris has also run many judging certification courses for prospective Provincial, National and International judges. He continues to actively judge in Canada and abroad.
Mark Heiderich started his gymnastics career in 1982 in Winnipeg. Competed as a member of Team Manitoba and the University of Manitoba until moving to Calgary where he competed nationally. Some of Mark’s career highlights: Canadian National Team member 1985, Western Canadian Champion 1985, 2nd in the Open category 1993 National Championships. Mark started judging early in his career, first officiating at National Championships in 1985. Mark earned the International certification in 2001 and have judged nationally and internationally since.
