On May 12th, Panthers Gymnastics Club hosted the Edmond Financial Women’s Provincial Stream Championships. I attended the first three sessions.

Eleven clubs were in attendance: Beausejour, Brandon Eagles, Crescentwood, GymKyds, Keystone Kips, Spartans, Silhouettes, Springers, Steinbach Flippers, Winnipeg Gymnastics and the host club, Panthers.

It was a full day of competitive sessions supported by parents, grandparents and many enthusiastic friends supporting their favorites. At the end of the competition, all athletes enjoyed lunch while their scores were tabulated. After a brief break, I had the honour of handing out awards with a Panthers parent volunteer, Judy Hawkins. I thank her for assisting me with all 3 sessions. As always the MGA website posts all scores for competitive participants.

Head Coach, Robert Persechino, his coaching staff and volunteers were busy throughout the day doing an excellent job in securing another successful meet.

Once again upon arrival, I had the opportunity to speak with parents about their daughters and their accomplishments throughout the year. Finally, I would like to thank the coaches, judges, parents and all volunteers, for their commitment to our gymnasts, the stars of the event; I take this opportunity to acknowledge their hard work and dedication to the sport.
